MACIAn exciting new technique called MACI has recently been approved by the FDA for the repair of symptomatic, full-thickness cartilage defects of the knee in adults and patients. Dr. Sherman’s Research Presented at ICRS World Congress 2016 in Sorrento, Italy

Some of Dr. Sherman’s recent research was presented at ICRS 2016 in Sorrento, Italy, this past September. Posters highlighting the research were on display. The topics were “All-Inside Meniscal Allograft Transplantation Using the Mizzou MAT” and “Development of a Novel Decellularized Meniscal Scaffold for Use in Tissue Engineering”.

Dr. Sherman featured in Orthopaedic Product News

Orthopaedic Product NewsDr. Sherman was recently featured in an article in Orthopaedic Product News. The article, entitled “Minimally invasive tendon repair technique supports knee movement sooner after surgery”, discusses new research by Dr. Sherman. The research finds that a less-invasive technique for repairing quadriceps tendon ruptures leads to a more rapid recovery following surgery.

In the article, Dr Sherman is quoted as saying, “Although a clinical study is needed to confirm this technique as a viable alternative to the current gold-standard technique, these results support suture anchors as a viable, less-invasive alternative to repairs of the quadriceps tendon.”

Dr. Sherman named a Standout North American Knee Surgeon

Friday Night Lights

Dr. Sherman is pleased to be a part of Missouri Orthopedic Institute’s Friday Night Light’s program. The program provides after hours sports medicine evaluations and care to high school athletes. For conditions that need treatment, radiology, casting and other needs are available onsite.
